Target Audience: Primary & Post Primary Teachers, SNA’s and Parents
Participants will develop a clearer understanding of dyslexia and learn how to identify common indicators in the classroom and at home. The session will also examine co-occurring difficulties that may accompany dyslexia.
A key focus of this webinar is the impact dyslexia can have on confidence and self-esteem and discuss supportive actions that schools and families can take to build confidence and create positive learning experiences.
Topics include:
- understanding dyslexia and current evidence-informed perspectives,
- recognising indicators of dyslexia in the classroom,
- common co-occurring difficulties,
- the emotional impact of dyslexia and low self-esteem,
- supportive classroom approaches
Presenter: Katie Tuite

Katie Tuite is a Dyslexia Specialist Teacher, she holds masters of Education in Specific Learning Difficulties and has been a primary school teacher for 17 years. She regularly visit schools for Croke Park hours, helping the staff better understand dyslexia. She also run after school dyslexia support classes for primary school children and works one-to-one with parents to help them understand their child’s diagnosis.
