This interactive webinar focuses on an often-overlooked stage of EAL development: supporting learners who are no longer new to English but are still building the academic language needed to fully access the curriculum. These students can appear fluent in everyday conversation yet still struggle with language demands of school subjects. In this session, we’ll explore practical strategies that extend vocabulary, academic language and independence. We’ll look at routines that help students step away from the scaffolds towards independence. Together, we’ll look at supports on how to make academic language visible and accessible for learners.
