This introductory webinar is designed for teachers who want to feel confident supporting EAL learners. We’ll explore how to build on students’ linguistic repertoires and create welcoming classroom routines. Ideal for those who are new to supporting EAL learners or those who want reminding of some simple key strategies for supporting learners. Best of all, EAL strategies will support all learners. You will leave with practical strategies that you will be able to implement immediately.
Presenter - Kirsten Barrett
Kirsten Barrett is a Scottish primary school teacher. She taught for 15 years in Scotland with a speciality of English as an Additional Language (EAL). During that time she has spoken at various events and is keen to continue fostering collaborative environments within the community.
Currently embarking on her Masters in Education at UCC, she is a keen reader of children’s books and a huge advocate for Reading for Pleasure.
