What is STEM? Why STEM? How do I do STEM? Find out the answers to these questions and more as we delve into what STEM practically looks like in the primary school classroom as a new curriculum area. Participants will discover how achievable and enjoyable STEM can be in their classroom without the need for elaborate lessons which can be very overwhelming and time consuming. Orla aims to simplify STEM and show how it can develop and nurture children’s 21st century skills to enable them to thrive in the new advanced world we live in.

Presenter Bio:
Orla Keane is a Primary School Teacher in a DEIS Band 1 school in Clare, with AP experience in STEM and Numeracy. She completed a Master of Arts in STEM Education in 2021 and runs the Instagram page @primaryschoolstem, where she shares simple and engaging ideas for the primary classroom. Since 2023, Orla has been delivering webinars and CPD for teachers, with a focus on playful, practical approaches to teaching maths and STEM.
