Session 1: History & Cautionary Tales from the US

Understanding the origins and context around the Continuum of Support can help us make better decisions when building and enacting systems. Where did the idea come from? What were the intentions? What have been the results in the US? How can Ireland learn from our mistakes? This session offers plenty to consider as you create and refine your systems.

Session 2: Universal Screening & Diagnostic Data: What & Why

What is the difference between universal screening and diagnostic data? How do we collect, analyse, and use these two types of data in an effective Continuum of Support system? What can oral reading fluency data tell us about reading comprehension? Includes examples and links to free resources for application.

Session 3: Core Instructions, Intervention & Progress Monitoring

How do these three components work together to help ensure all students achieve literacy success? How can we leverage the science of learning to boost instructional efficacy?

Session 4: Real-World Continuum of Support Implementation

In this session, we will look examples of how real educators effectively designed, enacted, and improved their approaches to the Continuum of Support in their unique contexts in real schools.
