Target Audience: Primary teachers of 3rd–6th class teaching writing through Irish — in Gaelscoileanna, Gaeltacht schools and English-medium schools (Gaeilge as T1 and T2).
Na seánraí is mó a thaitníonn le páistí! This session focuses on two popular genres: Insint/Scéal (Narrative) and Gnásúil (Procedure). We’ll look at simple, practical ways to teach stories, recipes and instructions, with plenty of oral language before pupils begin writing.
Foghlamóidh na rannpháirtithe conas / By the end, participants will be able to:
- teach narrative structure and rich descriptive language in Irish
- teach procedure writing using imperatives and sequence words
- use practical, engaging approaches to bring both genres to life
