In the wake of the Covid 19 pandemic, it is more important than ever for schools to focus on student well-being and resilience. Many students have been impacted in different ways, and may be struggling with strong emotions including anxiety, fear, disappointment and grief.
Research on resilience shows us that with support and skill development, resilience can be
strengthened and developed as a result of these challenges.

Schools can help students through this process through nurturing positive relationships and
developing skills such as emotional regulation, enhancing positive emotions and building self-
efficacy.

This webinar will explore practical suggestions from Positive Psychology, which is the science of well-being.

Tutor: Fiona Forman (M.Sc. Applied Positive Psychology, Co-author of Weaving Well-Being, Author of Wired for Well-Being)

This year’s return to school is unchartered territory for the entire school community. It is undoubtedly an anxiety provoking time for everyone.  In this webinar I collate the best evidence available to guide teaching staff in their job of supporting pupils to readjust, recover and move forward.

Objectives:

Develop increased awareness of the impact of COVID 19 on children of primary school age

Explore how these experiences might ‘show up’ in school

Identify classroom management strategies that build psychological safety and security and reduce emotional and behavioural issues

Reflect on how the ‘learning brain’ manages in times of stress and uncertainty
